May, 2008 - We stopped in Chanute, Kansas to take a factory tour of the NuWa fifth wheel plant --

and ended up staying a month and buying one. We fell in love with this town, its people and its

straight-forward approach to life. We stayed in the Santa Fe City Park where we had a chance to

meet the many NuWa owners who were coming into town for service on their fifth wheels. The park

had a pretty lake with ducks and geese and happy families wiling away the hours with each other.

The NuWa plant was fascinating, and we wandered in and out of many half-built units.

March 30-April 1, 2009 - We made a quick return visit to Chanute for some small warranty repairs on

the trailer. NuWa had ceased production of trailers but was planning to resume on a small scale in

June. The town was suffering from the economic disasters of the past year, and we hoped that

NuWa's return to making high quality trailers might ease the pain soon.
